House of Secrets : Challenge To your Believe System

After several recommendations from my friends I finally watched  Netflix documentary  called  House of Secrets : The Burari  Deaths , Directed by Leena Yadav.This documentary was based on horrifying and shocking incident happened in Burari area in North Delhi on 1July 2018 . After sudden death of 11 family members in a family entire nation was shocked and everyone making their predictions about what was exactly happened . After thorough investigation police found out the real reason behind this mass suicide. Whatever happened with that family raised many questions with regarding to social and psychological health of human being. 

Sociological Aspects:

It is shown in documentary that all the family members were helpful and kind towards their neighbors and friends which was absolutely good thing but there is problem in their behavior like they never shares any kind of problems they faced or any bad incident happened with them. I mean they always trying to be so called well off family but never showed the other side the negative one. Everyone was some kind of restricted and reserved person which ultimately causes low social integration. Thats why nobody in their relatives and neighborhood ever aware about this incident. 

Psychological Aspects:

Whatever happened in Burari Deaths case was most probably  because the psychological condition of all family members . All the family members blindly follows order of their family head and behave like accordingly what he said without asking any counter question, and somehow this behavior force them reached at this extreme level . Being extremely reserved makes them extra introvert and not sharing any kind of bad incident or trauma with anyone, ultimately causes psychological problems. Further extension of this  to starting illusion and unnecessary imagination of mysterious things. 

Role of Media:

Burari case raised many questions about social and psychological health. But as usual media doesn't cover it probably and there was no qualitative discussion happened about peoples mental health and changing social dimension especially with respect to this case. All the focus of media tilted towards religious and supernatural aspects and  unnecessary make it melodramatic just to attract viewers. 

Conclusion:

After watching this documentry I realized and also said in documentary that 'their is such a thin line between faith and delusion'. It's up to you whether its faith or delusion. We as civilized society needs to talk about reasons behind such incident and their impact on society and how we should avoid it to be replicate in future. I think this incident challenges our believe system and our overall understanding about society its problems.
