Introduction

Internship started on 20 November and ended on 20 December this internship is the most important and ambitious commitment of my life. I completed one month internship at Lokbharati university for rural innovation Sanosara Bhavnagar Gujarat. This was my first internship in my life and my first experience out of my state. We know that India has a Rural Soul. Mahatma Gandhiji was absolutely clear that India can never forget Rural Welfare for the Nation’s Development. Lokbhartis vision is to solve real-life problems of the rural areas through holistic education and innovation. This indicates our commitment towards Rural Development with the support of day-to-day innovations in Agriculture, Natural Farming, Dairy Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Indigenous Knowledge Systems. Lokbharati established as the first humble educational endeavour of our country in form of ‘Gramvidyapith’. It was an enterprise to implement Nai Taleem Education System in Rural Higher Education. Lokbharti rural higher education institution is unique, pioneer and autonomous in the country since 1953. It is an empirical model of Gandhiji’s vision of basic education – NaiTalim. It promotes a unique, self-reliant lifestyle that strives to improve every aspect of people’s lives in rural India. The main aim of BRS course Is to develop a cadre, who has willingness, abilities-skills and appropriate values to work with and for the rural communities to enable them for practising sustainable lifestyle and democratic values to bring prosperity and wellbeing. It has always been an institution delivering education to address the problems of rural India. It is a movement, a vision in action and rural revolution that imparts higher education to people otherwise unable to access it. I get a chance to work in such a great organization in my first internship itself. In this one months internship I able to participate in all the activities  of organization and understand deeply. Arranged different lectures in organization and talk with them. Along with this I able to understand mojilu shiksha abhiyaan in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. This Mojilu means learn with fun . I get a chance to visit different government school with volunteers of moliju shiksha abhiyaan and demonstrate their creative method of teaching in front of students of class 6 to 8.Along with this I also actively participate in Community Science Centre Which is main attraction Lokbharti’s 160 acre campus and its various departments are performing as community science canter for surrounding villages. Education, research and extension are core and unique characteristic in Lokbharti system of education. The appropriate science which is correlated with lives and livelihoods of common village people is core value for this centre. The objectives of Lokbharti community science centre are Develop scientific temper of daily life.To acquaint students with scientific and technological discoveries.To do interesting, life oriented, low cost scientific study. To make one self tree from blind faith and superstitions. To provide easy access to children and school teachers of surrounding villages to do and understand basic scientific concept. Gujarat state school text book assigned this science canter very important task to prepare textbooks and board assigned this science canter very important task to prepare textbook and reference materials for science, mathematics and environment subjects, for primary schools. The Gujarat government has resource canter for other science canter of the state. The centre major activities are Arranging science related lectures, exhibitions, slide-shows, film-shows, sky-observation, science-fairs, group discussions etc. Create simple, cheap toys explaining laws of science as well as sell and canvass them. Take the science-literature to people at the concessional rates. Activities and special programmes for elimination of superstitions, and beliefs; caring environment and removing pollution. Arranging learner-focused science education training with the help of the District Training Centre. Demonstrate and sell gadgets like smokeless stoves, biogas plant, star-lamps, solar cooker, wind, gas fire, solar hot water system, and other power saving gadgets. Use and promote the use of central government approved “ Energy Park” and “Science park” built by Lokbharati Science Centre. That’s the reason this internship experience was most important and ambitious commitment for me in my life.

About Organization

 

 

Lokbharati University for Rural Innovation is world’s first university exclusively focusing on ‘Rural Innovation.’ It has been accorded the Private University Status under GUJARAT PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2022. The university is managed by Lokbharati Gramvidyapith, the first ever Gram Vidyapeeth of the country. Spread across 165 acres of beautiful campus in the lap of nature, Lokbharati University is for seekers of knowledge and prospective social transformers.

 

Lokbharati’s genesis dates back to 1910 when Shri Nanabhai Bhatt, a devout Gandhian and freedom fighter realized education as the only means to emancipate the poorest section of the society and started a hostel in Bhavnagar. Then in 1938, he founded the first post-basic school (Lokshala which is based on the folk-schools of Denmark) on the principles of Gandhiji’s Nai Talim (cultivation of head, hand and heart!) in a small village, Ambala (35 Km from Bhavnagar). Then he and his visionary colleagues such as Shri Manubhai Pancholi, Shri Moolshankar Bhatt, and Shri Natvarlal Buch conceptualized and started an institute for imparting rural higher education i.e., Lokbharati at the lap of nature in Sanosara (10 km from Ambala) on May 28, 1952 (Buddh Purnima). The foundation stone was laid by Shree Kakasaheb Kalelkar, a famous Gandhian and an educationist.

Lokbharati is based on the Sarvodaya principles of truth and non-violence and it is an example of how basic and higher education can contribute towards solving rural problems. Basic education has to spread even to the lowest rungs of society, and this can instil a sense of equality and equity among people. With this as the foundation, Lokbharati imparts practical knowledge to its students which is suitable to the Indian psyche and culture, as well as useful to the society at large. Shri Nanabhai said that partial form of knowledge is burdensome and knowledge without character is futile and destructive. Therefore, he felt that it was important for students to stay on the campus of Lokbharati to acquire character trails like cooperation, acceptance, respect, tolerance, wisdom, to name a few. The present education, has led to an almost dichotomous partition between the “classes‟ and “the masses”, thereby weakening the foundation of the society. Unless correlated education is given to the vast majority of rural Indians, real democracy cannot exist. The current system of education, the British legacy, makes students literate individuals rather than well-informed educated humble human beings. The remedy for this social evil is to make hostel life – living together – the centre of our education. In hostel, students learn to live and work together in harmony, doing useful productive work on campus. Thus, whatever knowledge and skills the student acquires is in the context of a close rapport with life, society and nature.

Student manually work in field. Research of Soybean in Mansoon season. 945 types of variety last year. All work done manually. 10 thousands plant whole study every year. Trial field of wheat. Tries to focus less water intake variety. Lok1 is identity of Lokbharti. Agriculture demonstration plot/unit.Grading Machine. Agronomy student come here to study about Wheat variety. Honesty is most important in each field.

Zaver Bhai Patel PhD in Plant bleeding in Wheat. Work in Sugar Cane, Jawar etc. Palitana state P222. He started work with 8 plant . Started research in 1967. Lokbold worlds largest grain in wheat. 1000 wheat grain 90 gram. But it has many problems. Lok 1, 1 biga 55 man wheat. 1 acre 2.5 biga, 1 man 20 kg. All Reasech under lokbharti trust no government involved. Lok is suitable in all whether all kind of irrigation strong harvesting strong plant. Government creating problems for lok1. Community science center was started in 1973. By Dr. Arunbhai Dave . Create home as a Science center.

Objective

1.Develop scientific temper of daily life.

2.To acquaint students with scientific and technological discoveries.

3.To do interesting, life oriented, low cost scientific study.

4.To make one self tree from blind faith and superstitions.

5.To provide easy access to children and school teachers of surrounding villages to do and understand basic scientific concept.

Process

1.In order to create awareness for science in the children, there team visits over 100 school in  local villages regularly and help children in carrying on scientific activities.

2.Create simple, cheap toys explaining laws of science as well as sell and canvass them.

3.Demonstrate and sell gadgets like smokeless stoves, biogas plant, star-lamps, solar cooker, wind, solar hot water system, and other power saving gadgets.

Gaushala

 

Objective

 

Conserve the indigenous breed of Gir cow and do the scientific breeding of it, is the remarkable work done by this cattle breeding farm. The farm provides genuine pure cow milk and milk products to all 550students and 400 staff members families at Lokbharti campus. It is a live laboratory for students. A scientifically tainted and dedicated cadre of students from Lokbharti are working successfully in Gujarat as well as neighbouring states with breed improvement dairy development and animal husbandry related projects and programmes in rural areas.

 

Work Process

These are many students (Boys - Girls) are involved in daily routine work of the farm and earn while they learn. Education, research and extension-all three domains are integral part of Goshala. Teach students basic of animal husbandry along with Academics. Each section of gaushala has seperate staff. Total 6 workers work in Gaushala. Clean cow dailydaily basis in separate washing house to maintain hygiene.

 

Observation

Each cow has unique name to check her medical history and parents details. Visit to icecream and candy center in Gaushala. Grass cutting machine. Technique of

Sarpanch Training Center

 Sarpanch, talathi training center from 6 district. One-off the 7 training center in Gujarat. 40 to 50 officer one time for 90 days total 3 batch. Refresher course 15batches. Separate class rooms. Trainees has to do their daily work like cleanliness, food by themselves. This officers are directly connected with villages that's why institutions running this training program. 2 Dormentry. Different training for male and female trainees not combined training. Properly schedule program.

About Organization

We reached here on 26 November around 11 am then we visit campus with  School Principal Shri Vagji Bhai so we get basic information about school campus and its history.

GRAM DAKSHINAMURTI LOKSHALA was established in 1938 by Nanabhai Bhat. It is located Aambala village in Bhavnagar district in state of Gujarat. The school consists of Grades from 9 to 12. The school is Co-educational .Gujarati is the medium of instructions in this school.

 

Objective

         Try to reform the society through education which is formed on the basis of truth and non- violence and which is close to the culture and nature of our country. Follow the Gandhian ideology in students overall development.

School focuses on wholestic development of students through activity based learning.

 

 

Work Process

The school consists 9 to 12 classes. Language of teaching is Gujrati.Each class has only one division .

School has both trust teacher and government teachers. Most of the work in school is divided into students groups . Students divided into department wise , management make sure that each student will get experience of all department like kitchen, library, nursery , cleanliness etc. School schedule start with morning cleanliness of campus it maintain by all students. Prayer is main part of dail schedule morning and evening prayer is compulsory for all.

 

Observation

Many walls of school are beautifully painted by cultural events and daily works of villagers. Campus has enough numbers of trees to get fresh air and because of this campus looks more nature friendly for students. All students , teachers and extra teaching staff has strong bonding with each other so they do their respective work with cooperation.  Students do their given tasks and also manage to study well.

Objective : To get  experience about interaction with students, to overcome stage fear, to develop competition organized skills, to understand students learning ability .

 

Process: One day before competition we  informed students about essay competition to make sure they will get enough time for preparation. There were three topics they have choose one from it and write a essay in that topics - first one about My dream India second one about my dream village and last one about ideal student. Today we conduct competition in morning session from 7:45 to 8:20 . All students of class actively involved in process. All students write a good essay according to their understanding. After that we evaluate all eassy and choose best three among it.

Observation : All students actively participate and cooperates with us. Girls were more active in class . Some students face language problems but we manage to handle them carefully. In eassy writing I amazed with students view about our country and their awareness about social and political problems of India.  Many students write a good essay in such small age. Many student were very quite and sincere in class and follow all given instructions and few of them not do it, so we have to repeat instructions to them.


Learning

Able to understand overall process to conduct a competition like arrangement, topic selection, sitting arrangements, students management during competition and paper evaluation. Get great experience of interaction with students .

 

Future Planning :

 While interact with students I get to know about their plans about future and most of them wanted perceive career in different field but all have same aim to become responsible citizen of India.

We started our activities in school with attend a hindi language lecture in class 9  in that I able to understand teaching method of teacher and learning ability of students. I spend around 30 minutes with students and just observed them, some are active in class and other just listening to teacher but not give any response

Teaching subject like Geography was difficult for me but I able manage it.

Interaction with was great experience for me.

Learn Craft

 Learning craft with class 10th girls was great experience. They made a beautiful craft from waste and this is something which attracted me most in this school.

Teach Math and Reasoning with Fun Activities

Math and reasoning are looks very difficult to student but I teach them with fun activities. Students enjoy it and able to understand basic mathematical problems in fun away.

 We watch Manikarnika movie with all students Students always remember visual in better way so showing them movie on the basis on Indian freedom struggle was good idea I enjoy it a lot and students also watch it carefully.

Quiz Competition

Organized quiz competition for 10th class students. Two days before we informed students about competition so they get enough time for preparation. On competition day we creat 10 groups of each 6 students in each group 3 girls and 3 boys. Each group decided name for their own .  After 7 round we eliminate three group then we started to eliminate two groups after each upcoming round on final round just two groups left and the we took rapid fire round 5 questions in 30 second in that one group lead the other and that was winner of quiz competition

Overall it was great learning experience in Shri Dalshinamurti Lokshala , Aambala. I learned many things and also explore myself in different aspects of education system. Looking forward to come back here.

Kuber bhai kalabhai from manar insist Manubhai to stay in Village. Kuber bhai help Manubhai to start school in manar. First established Agriculture center then school. School awarded as best school in 2020.

Due to organization effort people near hy area started to plant Mango Plantation. It created agriculture revolution in area. Agriculture make organization self sufficient in term of fund and financial need. Hostel stay is compulsory to all students. Through government 83 vulnerable cast students

all financial need provide by government. Different organization provide near by area provide financial help to girls.

Currently in the guidance of Principal Shri Dayabhai Dangar ji school progress towards bright future.

NCC for 9 th and 10th student and NSS for 11th and 12 th students. Also attach to Mojuli Abhiyaan.

Teach them different skills so after finished school they will master in any skill after school.

NSS students collect fund for blind students and this year students collect around 2 lakh and send it to Blind school in Bhavnagar.

In Alang we visit to Asias biggest ship breaking yard. Understand the work culture and social conditions of workers. Great interaction with Shri Shitke Kaka who work in yard from last 30 years. He told about changing life of worker and work culture and work process in detail.

We participate in school cultural program 'Lokdayara ' in that all of three able to share some art performance me and Jayshree sing a marathi song  called 'Tu buddhi de ' which focus role and responsibility of students. The main purpose to participate in this activity is get experience to interact with larger audience and involved them in my performance on stage. In my this was my second interaction with all student after 12 min long introductory speech.

Conduct a Lecture in Class 9


To understand the work culture of any educational institution its important to interact with student for purpose we attend 30 min lecture in class 9 . It was English subject lecture all students carefully listened to teachers. Teacher taught in English and Gujrati both languages . Some students able to understand the teachers teaching and some was faced the language problem.

Essay  Competition

We organised eassy competition for class 9 students for that we informed them 2 days before so they we will get enough time for prepared. It was simple eassy writing in that Students write about country, village and student. Students were actively participate in essay .

Observation

This school situated in by sea coast surrounded by beautiful trees and gifted by nature. I think this is very good environment for students to learn about  nature. Students are very discipline about  their work. Students are learning basic life skills in campus.

Grafting is main occupation of farmers in area.

 

Learning

 

Most of activities we took in Manar were same as Aambala but this time we try to avoid all mistakes in organize exam and others. This time I improve my ability to handle students and make them more engage in activities result of this I feel satisfied with my performance.

 

Future Planning

Construction of new smart classes, under ground water tank for rain water harvesting. Provide best hostel facilities.

Try practical education in upcoming time.

Established new center for training like TV, mobile repair, beauty parlor, teddy bear, electrician, and other 7/8 skills. So students can learn new skill and it help them in future.

About Organization

Maidhar center of Lokbharti started in 1978 as nonformal education training center. In that training of biogas project, building construction etc. Then in 2014 started Lok Vidhyalay in Maidhar as a formal school. School has 9 to 12 standard . Schools tries to add elements of Nayi Talim in formal education. Also follow rule of small is beautiful.

 

Observation

This is self finance school doing great work in education sector. Running a Agriculture center, Science innovation center, Craft center etc.

 

Nonviolent Education

To Incourage students about nonviolence school runs a program called nonviolent education. To teach nonviolence through activities. To make them more calm and composed . In this activities they used their extra energy. Asli show one video clip on nonviolence every week.

Sunday School. Students make craft and learn new skills and technique to improve that skill.

Students can earn money by learning many activities like painting, craft, decorations etc.

 

Non Formal Education

In nonformal education students are learning many skills which will help them in future like agriculture, cooking, cleanliness etc. This make them more responsible citizens about their family and country.

Visit to

Agriculture Center Maidhar

Maidhar center connected with 20 villages.

Center work with Pidilite company and provide technical inputs to the farmers. For the importance crops of region such as wheat, soybean, cotton, coconut, etc., this helped the farmers to adopt the modern package of practices for working towards reducing input costs and increasing yields of this crops.

Center provide organic fertilizer , organic seed on subsidy basis through this try to build good relation with farmers.

Science invention center

100 students from one school daily come here. We spend whole day with students come from another school in science Center and learn complicated scientific experiments in simple words

 

Objective

1.Develop scientific temper of daily life.

2.To acquaint students with scientific and technological discoveries.

3.To do interesting, life oriented, low cost scientific study.

4.To make one self tree from blind faith and superstitions.

5.To provide easy access to children and school teachers of surrounding villages to do and understand basic scientific concept.

6.To generate interest among students and helps develop analytical skills among them

 

Process

1.In order to create awareness for science in the children, there team visits over 100 school in  local villages regularly and help children in carrying on scientific activities.

2.Create simple, cheap toys explaining laws of science as well as sell and canvass them.

3.Demonstrate and sell gadgets like smokeless stoves, biogas plant, star-lamps, solar cooker, wind, solar hot water system, and other power saving gadgets.

Help to understand impotence of practical approach to study subject like Mathematics and science. Also learn some basic techniques to understand science.

Purnima Samuh Bhojan

 

Full moon Group meal

All work arranged and managed by students . To create bonding between them. Every full moon day this program arranged in school special guest invited to interact with students.This collective activities are must for students.

Baingan Bharata and Bajara Bhakari. After meal there is culture night in that all students participate in group dance which prominently on cultural dance of Gujarat state i.e. Garaba .

Learn skills to improve your brain activities. Gradually you can can your mind through meditation and prayer. Skills like song,music, sports, paint, drama, craft help to improve your concentration. It refresh your thoughts. Healthy and prosperous human being. First be a responsible citizens about health, nature , society.

 

Mojulu Shikshan Abhiyaan


Maidhar center doing a great work in Mojulu Shikshan abhiyaan. We get a chance to visit schools which are under this Schemes .We spend amazing Two days with students and understand the implementation of activities with trained teacher of this schemes. First day we visit Model school Talaja mad second day we visit Kundali Primary School.Both schools was government schools. Students  actively involved in all projects and I watch them carefully while they do all things and I also participate in those things.This is

Joint venture of Pidilite and Trust

Work in 72 schools, four teacher from trust involves in this. In this project this two teacher go to 72schools in talaja ,Shihor and Palitana taluka and teach their through activities mathematics and science teach them through activities

Initial training one month

Teacher attend training after 3 months for 3 days

Teachers go to schools for one month one schools on working day. And spend almost one day and teach them all activities in one kit. Company  provide one kit to each teacher after every 3 month. Different kit for each class in each semester.If any schools remain that schools get priority in next month schedule. Mainly work in students of class 6,7 and 8th.

Interaction with Students

Interact with 11 class students about their future plans and understand their views about country and society. Most of the students want to pursue career in politics and Indian administration. I teach them about Indian geography. I was great talk with students

Learning

Understand the implementation process of Mojulu Shikshan Abhiyaan and get real experience of  teach students through activity based education.

Also improve my ability to handle students and involved them in interaction.

Along with this understand importance of nonformal education in students life.

 

Future planning

Students are much aware about socio economic conditions of country. So they wanted to do something great for country.

School wanted to add new activities in nonformal education practice



Conclusion

 In one month internship when I analyse myself I demonstrate some skills in myself like good communication skills which help me to interact with students and lecturers. While working in group I able develop my capacity for understanding of the problems and needs of the target group . When I work in group in that sometimes conflict situations happened but I develop my ability to solve conflict situations with a cool head which help me to become calm in conflict situation. While work in this internship I found out myself more enthusiastic for teaching and interaction with students. When I participate in various activities with students I became more creative person students help me to become more creative . While work in team I able to develop ability of high level of responsibility and ability to teamwork. In team work I acquired a skill of attention to detail and be more patience any all situation.  I think enthusiasm and creativity help me to stay motivated, and to correctly address various situations that happen in work. I have good communication skills, and I am not afraid to talk to anyone, or go anywhere. But I would say I am over-friendly to people sometimes, which is risky sometimes. But I am aware of this, and I try to control myself in order to avoid misunderstanding of my behavior.To be honest, I feel like I have to improve on everything–communication skills, dealing with tricky situations I experience with people, being more patient, not expecting too much, results I cannot achieve. I would not necessarily call these abilities my weaknesses, but I see room for improvement in all of them. And that’s maybe my strength actually–the desire to keep improving, my effort to become the best social worker I can be. At least that’s the way I see this.

 

One month internship at Lokbharati University for rural innovation Sanosara Bhavnagar Gujarat was my first experience in internship itself. So during this internship I faces some problem it starts with new place I never been out of my state till this internship so at the beginning of this internship it was challenging for me to adapt new environment but I able to do it in few days. So I became adaptable to all situation and conditions I faces in this internship. Lokbharati is big organization so it was challenging to cover all its department and visit to its different sister organization in period of one month but I properly plan my internship and divide some days for each place and each department so I successfully cover it. Interactive with students and get friendly with them was  also challenging specially at new place but I started this with ice breaking session and also play some interesting games with them so this activities help me to friendly with them. Arranged different session on different topics and engage all students in that was quite challenging but I managed this by including interactive session with students so they connect with my thoughts. In this way I faces some challenges but when I critically think on that particular challenge I found out solution on it and think this one of most important outcome of this internship for me that I challenge myself to overcome on any problems.
